happy and sad

This past weekend I got to spend the weekend with this fantastic, hilarious and talented group of ladies.

This was my third year at the Savvy Delights Retreat in Tahmoor NSW. And as usual Sandra and Sar had done an awesome job organising a fantastic weekend of scrapping and laughs.

Lauren, Kellie and I flew out of Brisbane on Thursday morning and met up with Malinda and Leonie who had flown in from Melbourne an hour or so before us... And that is when the fun began.....*sigh*  Not 5 minutes into our trip and the Kia Carnival that I had hired decided to stop... right in the middle of Sydney traffic... in the middle lane of course!

I took this photo after about half an hour of sitting there.. it took that long to get through to road side assistance... If we didn't laugh I think I would have cried! After an hour we were off and going again... In a new car thank goodness! But all in all it was a fantastic weekend!

Until I go home....

Yesterday was a bloody horrible day.... We had to make the decision to put my beautiful 14 1/2 year old Cockerspaniel,  'Sandy' to sleep. Over the weekend she had gone down hill fast.  Craig made the girls promise that they wouldn't tell me what was going on because he knew it would break my heart being so far away from her. We didn't tell the girls until after school, they were devastated... as we were too...  We have buried her in our back paddock where she was most happiest with her nose to the ground sniffing around and chasing the birds. We have planted a Pink Bottle Brush Tree for her too, she used to love scratching herself on the ones near the house (and make some interesting noises too lol)

RIP my beautiful girl.. we will miss you always

some shares

I am determined to get all of my South East Asia holiday photos scrapped before we head off on our next OS holiday.... We are off to Fiji after the New Year with the family that we met on our last trip.  Both of our families 'clicked' from the first day, definately life long friends. We are very lucky that they live only 3 1/2 hours away from us at the Sunshine Coast.  We have seen each other a few times already this year.

I did this layout of Kirst and Syroni last week. I am loving hexagons at the moment. (EP Collection Kit from Scrapbook Savvy)

EP 'So Happy Together', washi tape from D'lish Scraps, Greatest View Buttons, Thickers

I can't believe that I haven't shared this next one before. I did this layout in Melbourne in April at the 'scrap and chat' retreat. I love the bright colours of this Amy Tangerine paper range that I bought from Scrapbooking from Scratch.

Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook', Thickers, Resin flower from D'lish Scraps, PP button, Dyno gun, Bakers Twine, Manor House flowers, A 'Lil Somethin bottle cap

This time next week I will be nearly at the airport in Brisbane with Lauren Bell and Kel Moore. We are off to the Savvy Delights retreat at Tahmoor.  I am just a wee bit excited, I haven't been on a retreat for months! (shocking for me I know lol)

selfie queen

In my blog post yesterday I mentioned that I 'steal' my girls photos of their facebook pages,  and now that I have discovered instagram I can now 'steal' their photos from there as well.  That is the only way that I can get photos of the girls now that they are older. I had a bit of a LOL moment when I found this photo of Kirst and her friend Amanda that they took in one of their science lessons.

OA Woodland Park, AC Thickers, CW template, Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist, Greatest View Button, JBS journalling tag.

Hopefully I will get time to have a play today in my scraproom. I am missing playing with paint and paper :-(

september

is here!  And strangely enough our warmer weather that we have had in the last couple of weeks has disappeared???? We have gone back freezing mornings and light frosts.. thank goodness that our days are still nice and warm.

And being the start of the month means a new Scrap the Girls Challenge. This month it is all about those action shots.. easy hey? I am sure you have some photos of the girls in your life that you could use??

I was flicking through my photos on my laptop and I found this photo of my daughter Kirsten at her recent Sports Carnival... You have to love facebook for 'stealing' photos of your kids walls hee hee!

AC Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook', Ac Amy Tangerine Thickers. Greatest View Button. MVB Flower, JBS corrugated Alphas, Purple Pumpkin Felt Star, Button and Bakers Twine, unknown Heart button and paper clip.

I thought it was quite fitting to use some Amy Tangerine papers and Alpha's for this layout, seeing that she was doing the 'Spotlight' rounds last week... I have a few friends that went to Brisbane to meet her and they had a great day. Very jealous scrapper here!

I am looking forward to seeing your Action layouts linked to the STG Blog.
