6 x 6 paper pads

At the Savvy Delights retreat in August this year I bought some My Minds Eye 6 x 6 Paper Pads. I haven't used them before, but they looked perfect for layering.  I also like the fact that the pattern was on scale to the size of the paper. I would definately buy that size again.

when they were little

I am often asked if I have ever run out of photos to scrap.... nope! I go through stages where I pull out the girls photos from when they were little (And I have shoe boxes full of them!) They are usually not perfect photos to scrap. I didn't have a good camera back then, and definately not a scrapbooker. Have you noticed that your photography has stepped it up a notch since you started scrapping?

nephews

I often get asked if I ever run out of photos to scrap, ummmmm nope! If I don't have any recent ones printed I got to my photo box and grab some of the girls when they were younger, or even some of my photos of me when I was a child.

On a recent trip to Yamba with all of my in-laws I made sure I took heaps of photos of my neices and nephews to scrap for their albums. I don't get to scrap many boy photos so I take what I can get LOL

OA 'Midway' Collection, OA mini market Stickers, AC Thickers, CW template, Dylusions.

OA 'Woodland Park' collection. Kaiser Stamps, Dyno Gun, CW template, Dylusions,  Greatest View button,  JBS Alpha Stickers.

some dylusions and crafters workshop love

I was determined that I wasn't going to buy the newly released 'Dylusions' Mists. BUT after using some at a retreat, I fell in love instantly.   I know, I am a sucker for something new lol. So over the last couple of months I have added a few more colours to my stash. And we won't talk about my smallish collection of Crafters Workshop Templates hee hee.

After being ill over the last couple of days I thought I would have a quiet day and have a play in my scrap room.

For this layout I have used the Amy Tangerine Ready, Set Go collection KitPaint Lid CW template and some Dylusions Ink Spray all available from Scrapbooking from Scratch.

Today I became a Guest Design Team Member and Social Media Editor of Scrapbooking From Scratch while Peta recovers from surgery over the next month or so.

I am looking forward to working with the awesome team of  Peta, Kellie, Deb and Charm.

Hoping to see you all over at the forum and your challenge layouts in the gallery :)

I love the bright colours in Amy Tangerine's 'Sketchbook' Range. I have got so many layouts out of this collection kit and it is nearly all gone now :(

why?

Why do you scrapbook? Is it to preserve memories for you and your family or is it a creative outlet? For me it is a bit of both.

I have been scrapbooking for nearly 10 years. Before that I made cards. My sister-in-law invited me to a Crafty Kids party at her home and I was hooked from the word go. After a while I started using patterned paper on my cards too... that started my addiction with pretty things.  When a scrapbook shop opened in town I popped in to check it out and the rest is history... As my SIL says 'I crossed to the dark side' hee hee

And I can't do a blog post without sharing a layout with you. This is a memory that I am sure that I won't be forgetting in a hurry.

The journalling says:

'We couldn't believe that 5 minutes into our trip that our hire just stopped in the middle of four lanes of traffic'

Luckily the replacement car got us to Tahmoor for the Savvy Delights Retreat! And we managed to get a hefty discount for our trouble :)

kraft it up

Are you sitting down?? Yep, I have done another blog challenge! I know, I scare myself lol

This months Kraft It Up Challenge is

MINIMALIST / WHITE SPACE --> That is your challenge this month, your layout needs to be created on Kraft CS or Kraft PP and should show a large large amount of White Space.

I must say that the background was created for me by Sar while we were at the SFS retreat.. ( just added some mists) I thought it was perfect for this page of my girls and their cousins burying my nephew when we were in Yamba earlier this year.

I am loving lots of white space at the moment, so this one was right in my comfort zone ;)

What is your favourite blog challenge to do each month (and you had better say Scrap the Girls  LOL)

show us your stuff

I have been a total slack arse when it comes to entering any blog comps.  But this months SUYS challenge caught my eye.

Use the colour YELLOW + washi tape!!

I have had a bit of a yellow thing happening lately.... which is strange because it is one of my least favourite colours???  And the washi tape element... I may or may not have a few rolls of it here (not counting the gorgeous order I got from D'lish Scraps today  hee hee )

I seem to be having a bit of a love affair with chevron at the moment. What about you? What trend have you been using on nearly every layout??

sweet day

I love the soft colours of Echo Park 'Sweet Day'.   This is another collection kit that I had forgotten I had in my stash... there isn't much left now though :)

For this next layout I have added a Charms Creations dyed doily and a Greatest View button.

And I even dug out the sewing machine too!

Thanks for dropping by, and thank you for your lovely comments on my last posts

inspiration?

Where is your go to for scrapbooking inspiration?

Here is mine.

Before I discovered Pinterest I would save sketches and layouts to a file on my laptop. But that only worked if I was at home. Now I pin them to my boards on Pinterest. I always have my Ipad with me to crops and retreats.. so my inspiration is always on hand.  I do have a problem sticking to a sketch or a scrap lift though lol... they are a great starting point for me.

Do you have a Pinterest account? If you don't and you would like one leave your email address in the comment section below and I can add you (I am not sure why it is done that way??)

love me some heidi swapp

I have been a big fan of Heidi Swapp's products for a long time.  Even more so after I did a workshop with her and Wendy from Tattered Angels in Brisbane a few years ago.

So when I saw this kit

at the Scrapbooking From Scratch Retreat I just had to have it. And boy I am glad that I did. I love both the layouts that I have created with it so far.

HS Vintage Chic Papers, Alphas and Embellishments, Artisian Elements Circles, Prima flower,  Bazzil C/S

The first one of my niece, Katie, would have to be my all time favourite layout. Not a bad effort for starting it at 4am after suffering insomnia all night :(

Peta still has a couple of these retreat kits left in the shop if you want to grab one ;)

girly

Just a quick share of a couple of layouts that I did on our weekend at Lauren's. I love the pastel colours of both these ranges...

summer fresh

I love the colours in the Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh range', very aptly named it think.

I have had this collection kit in my stash for a few months unopened (I think I might have too much paper???) I finally cracked it open at Lauren's a few weeks ago and I loved it!

The primary colours in the range makes it super easy to use. I have started digging through  some older photos of the girls that I haven't scrapped yet. A friend asked me recently if I had run out of photos yet, ummm....nope... I have thousands in the cupboard that should keep me going for a while lol

And then I like to 'steal' photos of my nieces and nephews too to add to their albums.

I love this photo of Nat that I borrowed from her mothers Facebook account lol.

Do you buy collection kits or do you buy your paper by the sheet?
