is it on your list?

Are you planning on a scrappy weekend?  If you are looking for some inspiration there is still time to get the Scrap The Girls Challenge done. If you missed my blog post earlier this month, Mal has a great quote for us to use. BUT you must use the whole quote on your layout. As you can see on my layout I have used the printer to print out most of the quote on a journalling block and I have used the words 'having a sister' out of the quote as my 'title'.

I have quite a few friends heading off to Scrapbook Retreats this weekend. Lucky things!
BUT this time next week I will be settled in at the Wicked Princesses retreat in Brisbane (one nice and close to home LOL)  hopefully scrapping up a storm, but being the first night I know there will be lots of chatting, laughing and maybe one or two glasses of wine consumed. Ok, maybe more than one or two hee hee.

I can't wait to see your layouts linked on the Scrap the Girls Blog

elephant ride!

One of the highlights of our tour was the elephant ride around one of the temples in Cambodia. We then got to feed them bananas after we had finished... This photo of Kirsten pretty much sums it up LOL

these should keep me going for a while

I have really enjoyed scrapping our holiday photos from earlier this year. It brings back all the good times that we had. I took over 2000 photos in the 3 weeks while we were overseas and I recently have been given another 1500 from one of the other families that was in our tour group.

I love this photo of the girls. I took this one in the Silk District in Hanoi in Vietnam the day before our tour started. The gardens were a stark contrast to the standard of living there.

This one was taken in Cambodia at the Angor Thom Temple were both Tomb Raider and one of the Indiana Jones movies were made.
My gorgeous friend Tam challenged me to use a flag on my page... I am not entirely happy with it, but a challenge is a challenge! I usually pull them apart and use them as a banner like I have done with this one as well.

I'll be back soon to share some more of my retreat pages

photo swap

At the retreat that I was recently on, Malinda had organised for us to do a photo swap. I was given a gorgeous photo of my beautiful friend Michelle's dog, Charlie.

The new Echo Park 'This and That' range was perfect for the photo. And of course I had to use one of Charm's Heavenly Hearts on my page.

I was lucky enough to have Peta scrap my photo for me. I love this photo of Gigi at my retreat last year... it always makes me literally LOL.

I have only just realised that Peta used the same paper range that I had used for Michelle's Layout... great minds think alike LOL

I will be back soon to share some more of retreat layouts with you

some retreat shares

Boy oh boy this year seems to be flying! It just might have something to do with me being on the run constantly!
Last weekend my little family drove to Kyogle in Northern New South Wales to attend my cousin Bradley's wedding to the gorgeous Jessica.

I love this photo that my daughter Amanda took of them... and I had an absolute ball editing the 400 odd pictures that we took that day.

Now onto some retreat shares from last weekend.

This first one is one that I did for Kerri's Use Your Stash Challenge at Challenge Heaven.

This next one is for Tara's Quote Challenge at Scrapbook Savvy for last month (which I forgot to upload D'oh!)

As you can see I am getting lots of our holiday photos scrapped. I think I am going to need a few albums LOL

challenge heaven

My challenge this month at Challenge Heaven is to use a quote from a movie or book on your layout. I have used this quote from 'The Help'

I watched this movie with my girls and Lauren and we all sobbed like babies! loved the book and loved the movie!

My sponsor for this months challenge is Lime Tree Creations. So I have added another criteria to this months challenge.... you must use something handmade on your layout. I have made some flowers for mine.

I am looking forward to seeing your layouts in the gallery. Please remember that you must tag your layout with 'Donna's May Challenge' when you upload it so that I can find it and to be in the running for this great prize

may scrap the girls

This month for the Scrap the Girls Challenge Malinda has given us a quote to use.

Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of.

You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." Amy Li

I love this banner that I found on Pintrest and so easy to make as well. Definately something that I will be doing again.

Looking forward to seeing your layouts linked to the STG blog!
